September 27- October 4, 2007

Site Summary

This year, the Church of God Halifax is sponsoring the Feast of Tabernacles in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Halifax is a city rich in Maritime history. On December 6, 1917, two ships collided in Halifax Harbour creating the largest man-made explosion before the invention of the atomic bomb.

At the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, see the world's finest collection of wooden artifacts from the Titanic. There were 150 victims of the Titanic tragedy brought here in April of 1912, and buried in 3 Halifax cemeteries.

Halifax has been visited a number of times by the Tall Ships. Every summer there are visits by various cruise ships. On September 25, 2003 - RMS Queen Mary 2 - the majestic flagship of the Cunard fleet - the most luxurious and largest ocean liner in the world - made her maiden call at Halifax, Nova Scotia - as can be seen in the photo at the top of the page.

The star shaped Halifax Citadel National Historic Site - the famous hilltop fortress - is where this city's role as key naval station in the British Empire is commemorated. The music and pageantry of the kilted 78th Highlanders and the precision of the Royal Artillery bring history to life as you step back in time to 1869.

Temperatures in October are generally between 40º - 50º F, and fall days are frequently sunny.
