Site Summary

Greetings,

We are a small Messianic group who meet on the first and third Sabbaths of each month. We are blessed to have a fine facility provided by a Sunday group here locally for our Sabbath meetings. Our regular group consists of between 10 to 15 people, but we sometimes have between 40 to 50 who join us for the sacred festivals. We are a Messianic group. We establish the first month of Aviv by the sighted crescent new moon over Zion (Israel) either on, or after the vernal equinox.

Being , we of course believe that Yahshua is the suffering servant of Isaiah 53, and the only begotten son of Yahweh, the great eternal One. We further believe that the way of salvation is laid out both in the sanctuary and in the sacred festivals. We believe the plan of salvation begins with the sin offering sacrifice of Yahshua our Messiah, and that we demonstrate our belief and faith in His work of redemption through the rite of baptism. We hold that we must develop the spiritual character of holiness in order to have a place in the coming kingdom of the saints. We therefore believe that only those who endure unto the end of this evil age shall be saved. We instruct that the Torah is the standard of righteousness that the Saviour commissioned us to teach all nations. We do teach from both the Hebrew and the English Tanakh (the “Old” Testament, as it is often called), and from the Berith Qadeshah.

We do practice the Sameakh Qarar: the joyful dance as a part of our worship. Our songs are sung mostly in English, but a couple of them in Hebrew as well. Our music is simple and usually accompanied by a 12 string guitar. We invite others to bring their gifts/talents with them.

We have found through years of experience that we can avoid much unnecessary confusion, and yes, temptation if both brethren and sisters attire themselves in modest apparel, and herein we do not mind being very specific. Since men are more visually oriented than women we requirst (which is somewhere between a sincere request, and a requisite), that the women fully cover themselves, and do not bring new revelations. Anything revealing or form fitting would detract from the sacred nature of our goal, and we therefore kindly ask that such be left behind. Please understand that it pains us to have to set this standard as we realize there are many innocent believers who simply have not been instructed in this very important matter, and we hate to turn any away. But we have found that often, without setting the standard in advance, the immodest drive the modest away, and so we are endeavoring to restore this lost virtue.

And when we address the matter of modest apparel we include the brethren as well. Our men do not wear shorts or undershirts, nor do we invite any to display their tattoos, and in fact, with the exception of those who have repented of such unscriptural practices, we teach that it is contrary to the Torah for any to mark up their soul temple and make it an art gallery for others to view. The truth of our group is that the men wear tunics. We do not approve of tight, form-fitting clothes for men any more than we do for the women.

We have regular teachings in the mornings and the mishnaic study in the afternoon. As a group we would like to try to have one fellowship meal each day wherein each one brings a dish to share possibly the early afternoon meal. And our meals consist of clean food delineated in Lev. 11.

We ask all adults to keep their children under good management at all times. We do not invite any sort of loud or secular music, and we ask that everyone retire by 9:00 PM, in conformity to the Law of Rest. We have found that by adhering to this practice, we avoid about 90% of all sleepy, grouchy feast-keepers at the morning services. Also the park rules have a curfew is at 10:00 pm. The park does allow pets on a leash.  However, we ask that they do not attend the meetings nor be present during our fellowship meals or meals.

With all of these positive notes, we joyfully add that our meetings are led of the Ruakh HaQodesh (Holy Spirit), and that all things are done in a descent and orderly manner. We invite all who are of good will, and seek the blessings of the Almighty, as well as seek to be a blessing.

As none are to come to the feast empty handed, we would only ask that all contribute to the expense of the facility as well as their own individual admission into the park.

We hope this outlay will help all to be encouraged to come and help us lift up the holy standard and be a praise in the earth, and bring back the peace of Yahrushalaim: those who are called by His name.  You may post this letter as a description of our little group if you so desire.

          In Messiah’s never ending love,

                                      Brother Roeben & Sister Matsayah

                                                                                      Shalom.
